Traffic, schools concerns raised about project along Hodges Boulevard

Neighbors told District 3 City Council member Aaron Bowman and land representatives that a proposed Hodges Boulevard project would exacerbate traffic problems and impact school capacity.

Bowman hosted a community meeting Monday night to introduce and address concerns of neighbors about Ordinance 2019-317, the proposed rezoning of 48.53 acres on the west side of Hodges Boulevard between Butler Boulevard and Glen Kernan Parkway.

Auto dealer Terry Taylor intends to develop the Pickettville Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep dealership in West Jacksonville.

The city is reviewing a permit application for construction of the almost 51,000-square-foot project on 9.8 acres at 7030 Commonwealth Ave. at a cost of $8.5 million.

Deerwood Park office portfolio sells for $231 million

A joint venture between Starwood Real Estate Income Trust Inc., Vanderbilt Office Properties and Trinity Capital Advisors paid $231 million for an 11-building office portfolio in Deerwood Park in an off-market transaction, reports rebusinessonline.com.

The starwoodnav.reit site said the Class A office portfolio totals 1.27 million square feet of space and is 90 percent leased to 55 tenants.
