Community, developers discuss concerns about the proposed Park Place at San Marco apartments

More than 200 people gathered at South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church to hear details and voice their concerns about the Park Place at San Marco apartment project, which would be built on part of the church’s property.
Concerns included traffic and the number of apartments under development, while some neighbors supported the additional parking it will provide.

Ashley Square, a six-story senior housing community in Downtown’s Cathedral District, passed its final review hurdle.
The Downtown Development Review Board gave final design approval in a 7-0 vote Thursday on the 120-unit development.

Architects for Florida Blue’s proposed $22.5 million parking garage in Brooklyn have satisfied its critics on the Downtown Development Review Board.
The design of the 869-space garage was granted final approval by the board Thursday in a unanimous vote.

Anyone interested in buying the vacant Fire Station No. 5 building in Brooklyn has 30 days to bid on it.
The Downtown Investment Authority approved a notice of disposition Wednesday to sell and relocate the 7,152-square-foot, 109-year-old structure at 347 Riverside Ave.
The move will clear the property for a planned realignment of Forest Street across Riverside Avenue to provide better access to the recently announced $145 million Fidelity National Information Services Inc. headquarters.
Planning Commission roundup: Buck Business Park townhomes advance

Buck Business Park in Arlington is a step closer to a townhome development.
The Jacksonville Planning Commission recommended approval Thursday to amend the land use and to rezone property at Buck Business Park along the north side of Merrill Road, between Fort Caroline Road and Wompi Drive.
D.R. Horton plans to develop Deer Run, an 83-unit townhome project, on 5.58 acres of the 10.1-acre property, which is east of the Southside Connector and Interstate 295.
