Collins Aerospace is making moves in North Jacksonville

Collins Aerospace Corp. continues to hire and build-out space for its Engineered Polymer Products plant in North Jacksonville that could employ more than 100 people by the end of 2020.
The plant has been almost a year in the making.

WCI Communities, a subsidiary of Miami-based Lennar Corp., submitted plans for the Stillwater development, formerly known as Greenbriar Downs, to the St. Johns River Water Management District.
WCI requests an environmental resource permit review of the proposed 818-unit age-restricted residential community in northwest St. Johns County.

It’s now likely the vacant 109-year-old Fire Station No. 5 in Brooklyn will be demolished.
Downtown Investment Authority CEO Lori Boyer said the city received no response to its 30-day request for proposals to purchase and relocate the 7,152-square-foot structure from 347 Riverside Ave.
JEA board member to call for vote on firing CEO Aaron Zahn

JEA board member Henry Brown intends to call for the firing of utility Managing Director and CEO Aaron Zahn at the board’s Dec. 17 meeting.
Brown told Zahn in a conversation Dec. 15 that he intends to make a motion for the termination at the beginning of the meeting in accordance with section 3.1.5 of Zahn’s employment agreement.
Executive says CSX Corp. team transformed the company

Mark Wallace joined CSX Corp. in early 2017 as part of a sweeping overhaul of the Jacksonville-based railroad company’s top management.
As far as he’s concerned, the new team is succeeding in its goals of improving the company’s operations, Wallace said Dec. 10 at the quarterly luncheon of JAXUSA Partnership.
