Publix Super Markets Inc. continues to renovate its area grocery stores.
The company seeks a permit to remodel parts of its almost 54,000-square-foot store at 2875 University Blvd. W. at a cost of $650,000.
McIntyre Elwell & Strammer General Contractors Inc. of Sarasota is listed as the contractor.

PineRidge Film and Television is preparing to produce a three-part documentary, “The Soul of Southern Rock,” that would take Jacksonville’s history with the genre onto an international stage.
Jacksonville-based PineRidge Film and Television is led by CEO Jerry Smith and his wife, Cynthia Smith, as president. Suzanne Teate is associate producer with First Coast Films, which is producing the documentaries.
Hakimian Holdings buys its largest shopping center

Hakimian Holdings Inc. paid $11.95 million last week for the Promenade Shopping Center, boosting the Jacksonville-based company’s retail space owned to more than 1 million square feet.
CenterState Bank made an almost $9.19 million mortgage for the deal.
The center, at 8595 Beach Blvd., is Jacksonville-based Hakimian’s 26th purchase and will be rebranded as Gates of The Promenade Shopping Center.
Planning Commission: Crowne Plaza hotel property rezoning recommended

The Jacksonville Planning Commission recommended approval Thursday to rezone the 29-acre Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Airport hotel property at southwest Interstate 95 and Airport Road in North Jacksonville.
Property owner Gregory Morris, manager of Blue Sky Jaxap LLC and Eagle Landings of Jax LLC, proposes to renovate the hotel and add 100,000 square feet of commercial, medical and senior living facilities and up to 85 apartment units.

Initially planning to open in August, Downtown vegan cafe and bakery Grenville Kitchen is slated to open by the first week of November.
A week before the restaurant’s final inspection in August, owner Jenielle Frith suffered serious injuries in a car accident and was hospitalized for more than a month, she said.
