Rowe’s decides against opening supermarket in Publix space at Gateway Town Center

Rowe’s IGA Supermarkets owner Rob Rowe said Sunday he will not take over the Publix space at Gateway Town Center.
“We will not be doing this location,” Rowe said, explaining that he couldn’t agree to the landlord’s rental terms.
“The economics didn’t work out. He wanted more than I could afford,” Rowe said.

Demolition approved for The Jacksonville Landing

The Jacksonville Landing is cleared for demolition.
The city Building Inspection Division issued a permit Monday for D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc. to take down the closed Downtown retail marketplace at a cost of $1,074,002.
D.H. Griffin will raze the two-story, 178,838-square-foot structure built 32 years ago at 2 Independent Drive W. on the Northbank of the St. Johns River.
FIS to build $145 million headquarters in Riverside, create 500 jobs

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Fidelity National Information Services Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Gary Norcross announced Friday that FIS will build a $145 million, 12-story, 300,000-square-foot world headquarters at 323 Riverside Ave. and create 500 jobs.
That confirms FIS is the code-named Project Sharp, a long-expected disclosure.
Load King taking steps to expand its manufacturing plant

Load King Manufacturing Co. wants to move forward with an expansion that could add 100,000 square feet of distribution and manufacturing space.
Jacksonville-based Load King has contracted to buy land from the city for the project next to its Rail Yard District headquarters and manufacturing plant west of Downtown.
