Davis family, The PARC Group planning 4,000-home community in Clay County

Developers of the Nocatee and eTown residential and commercial communities in Duval and St. Johns counties have turned to Clay County for a large project.

The Davis family and The PARC Group intend to develop more than 3,000 acres in Green Cove Springs west of U.S. 17 and north and south of the First Coast Expressway under construction.

Karrie Massee, a descendant of the B.J. Johnson Soap Co. and Palmolive Co. family, operates The Club Continental in Orange Park and soon will open a luxury boutique hotel a block north on Astor Street.

Native Sun operated at 10000 San Jose Blvd. in Mandarin, 11030 Baymeadows Road in Baymeadows and 1585 N. Third St. in Jacksonville Beach.

Vestcor plan recommended for LaVilla townhome development

A proposal by Vestcor Companies Inc. to develop eight city-owned parcels in LaVilla was scored as the top choice by a Downtown Investment Authority committee.

Vestcor is one of three companies vying to develop for-sale townhomes in LaVilla at Adams, Johnson, Lee and Forsyth streets.

JEA is seeking private companies and organizations interested in buying some or all of Jacksonville’s public utility.

JEA officials released a notice of solicitation Friday, asking interested and qualified parties to submit their proposals by noon Sept. 30.
