City issues permit for $3 million Solera build-out in Baymeadows

The city issued a permit May 22 for Solera Holdings LLC, a Texas-based venture that provides data and software services to the auto insurance industry, to build-out the third floor of Building 300 at the Prominence office park in Baymeadows.

Dav-Lin Interior Contractors is the contractor for the $3 million tenant build-out of 40,230 square feet of space on the third floor at 8900 Prominence Parkway. Praxis3 of Atlanta is the architect.

Five Below permit in review for Gateway Town Center

The city is reviewing a permit application for Five Below to build-out in Gateway Town Center in the Norwood area.

No contractor is listed for the estimated $200,000 project for interior improvements of 9,321 square feet at 5258 Norwood Ave. Barr Architecture Inc. of Davie is the architect.

Former GE Oil & Gas plant closing in Cecil Commerce Center

Baker Hughes Co. is closing its Westside Jacksonville plant next year, putting 183 people out of work at a facility originally opened by GE Oil & Gas in 2015.

Baker Hughes sent a notice May 18 to state officials under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act saying it will lay off the workers beginning in January and continuing through the end of 2024.

Mayor Curry: Renovations could force Jaguars out of TIAA Bank Field for 2 years

Mayor Lenny Curry said Wednesday in a radio interview that a potential stadium renovation could force the Jacksonville Jaguars out of TIAA Bank Field for up to two seasons while those changes are made.

In an interview with 1010XL, Curry said that talks were already happening and legwork was being done on options as a stadium renovation looms.

Developers start construction on CubeSmart in Silverleaf

Construction is underway on the first self-storage facility in SilverLeaf, the master-planned community in St. Augustine.

According to a news release, CubeSmart Self Storage will manage the 90,000-square-foot center, which will comprise 660 climate-controlled storage units from 25 to 300 square feet. 

The center is on 2.6 acres at Silverleaf Parkway and Courtney Vista Drive. It is projected to open in 2024.
