The St. Johns River Water Management District said it will grant a permit for development of the Cinemark theater at The Pavilion at Durbin Park.
Cinemark Holdings Inc. said in October it plans to open a 12-screen movie theater there by the fall. The company said the theater will feature Cinemark’s XD auditorium technology, 4K digital projection and RealD 3D capability.
All auditoriums will feature its “Luxury Loungers,” electric-powered, oversize recliners with footrests and cup holders.
Plans show an 85,000-square-foot complex with a 44,000-square-foot movie theater and six restaurant-retail buildings.
The Pavilion at Durbin Park is under development in northern St. Johns County.
