Target Corp. is preparing to add its “enhanced Apple experience” to its Mandarin store at 10490 San Jose Blvd.

The project groups Apple products and accessories in one space designed for customers to experience them through demonstrations and Target Tech Consultants who will receive specialized training from Apple.

Groom Construction Co. Inc. of Salem, Massachusetts, is the contractor for the estimated $310,000 project to build an Apple display unit, which includes adding and relocating fixtures, wall and floor finishes, and power and light updates.

The store is in the Courtyard Shopping Center north of Interstate 295.

The build-out is planned in almost 2,700 square feet of space in the 138,286-square-foot store, which was built in 2000.

Minneapolis-based Target announced in February that the “new shopping experience” debuted online. Target began to roll out in select locations that month.

It announced at least 17 locations to start, including four in Florida in Clearwater, Gainesville, Miami and Orlando.

Target’s news release said there would be “additional locations rolling out in 2021 and beyond.”

“The retail collaboration builds on Target and Apple’s more than 15-year relationship by combining Apple’s latest products with the convenient shopping experience and fulfillment services Target’s guests love,” it said.

Target said the dedicated space features new lighting fixtures and displays for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods,  HomePod, Apple TV and other accessories.
