Jacksonville voters reelected Democrats Tommy Hazouri and Ju’Coby Pittman in Tuesday’s City Council runoff election, while Republican Terrance Freeman will move from District 10 to At-Large Group 1 after defeating Duval County Democratic Party Chair Lisa King.
Hazouri, a former Jacksonville mayor and school board member, retained his At-Large Group 3 seat with 58.05% of the vote. He defeated Republican Greg Rachal, according to unofficial results released by Duval County Supervisor of Elections Mike Hogan.
Freeman defeated King 53.85% to 46.15%, keeping At-Large Group 1 in Republican control. The seat was vacated by outgoing council member Anna Lopez Brosche, who ran an unsuccessful campaign in March to unseat Mayor Lenny Curry.
Pittman was reelected to her second District 8 term with 57.64% of the vote, defeating fellow Democrat Tamkea Gaines Holly to represent Northwest Jacksonville.
