DEVELOPMENT NOTES: JACKSONVILLE UNIVERSITY TO BEGIN BUILDING HEALTH SCIENCES BUILDING; SYSCO EXPANDING

Jacksonville University is building its $21 million health sciences building at 5491 Dolphin Point Blvd. Stellar Group Inc. is the contractor for the three-story building on 6.6 acres north of the main campus at 2800 University Blvd. N. The city issued a construction permit Feb. 20 after issuing the foundation permit in September.

Site clearing was permitted in August. The 104,000-square-foot building will contain the Keigwin School of Nursing, the School of Applied Health Sciences and the School of Orthodontics.

Development notes

• The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing a permit application for the expansion of Sysco International Food Group Inc.’s proposed expansion at 3100 Hilton St. in Northwest Jacksonville. Sysco International Food Group also applied to the city for a $626,000 expansion of cooler-freezer space, a dry warehouse and more. Stellar Group Inc. is the contractor of the 116,537-square-foot project.

 CEVA Logistics is building-out 18,791 square feet in Baymeadows as it relocates from Deerwood Park Center. The city issued a permit March 1 for CEVA on the fourth floor at 8800 Baymeadows Way W. Tenant Contractors Inc. is the contractor for the $341,743 project. The space is less than the 40,000 square feet it leases at 10751 Deerwood Park Blvd.
