Coronavirus in Florida: 35 people test positive for COVID-19

FLORIDA — UPDATE 3/12/2020 2 p.m.:
The Florida Department of Health announced a new positive COVID-19 case, this time in Seminole County.
A 68-year-old man who recently returned from a cruise in Egypt tested positive for the virus and will remain isolated until cleared by public health officials.
There are now 35 positive COVID-19 cases in Florida.
Additionally, the Dept. of Health said a man who was travelling from New York through Florida to go to Bike Week and tested positive for COVID-19 in St. Johns County did not attend the Bike Week event.

There are a total of 34 positive cases of COVID-19, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Three new positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Florida.
Information from the Florida Department of Health:
- A 57-year-old man in Lee County has tested positive for COVID-19. He is isolated. It is currently unclear whether this was a travel-related case; the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
- A 65-year-old man in Broward County has tested positive for COVID-19. He is isolated. It is currently unclear whether this was a travel-related case; the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
- A 61-year-old man in Broward County tested positive for COVID-19. He is isolated. This is a travel related case and is associated with Port Everglades.
UPDATE 3/11/2020 9:54 p.m.:
Three new positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Florida.
Information from the Florida Department of Health:
- A 63-year-old New York resident currently in St. Johns County has tested positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case where this individual traveled from New York to attend Daytona Bike Week in Daytona, Florida. The New York Department of Health is leading the epidemiological investigation for this individual.
- A 56-year-old man in Miami-Dade County has tested positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 70-year-old man in Broward County tested as positive. He is isolated. This individual attended an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Conference in Tampa, Florida. The epidemiological investigation is underway.

Eight new positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Florida.
Information from the Florida Department of Health:
- A 68-year-old man in Nassau County has tested positive for the coronavirus. He is being isolated and will continue to remain isolated. This is a travel-related case. The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners has called for a special meeting for 4 p.m. to provide a briefing on COVID-19. Action News Jax will stream it here and on the Action News Jax Facebook page.
- A 68-year-old woman Georgia resident who is currently in Alachua County, Florida, has been tested positive for the coronavirus. She is isolated. The Georgia Department of Public Health is leading the epidemiological investigation for this individual.
- A 73-year-old man in Collier County has been identified as positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 68-year-old woman in Collier County has been identified as positive. She is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 64-year-old woman in Collier County has been identified as positive. She is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 67-year-old man in Pinellas County has been identified as positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 64-year-old man in Pinellas County has been identified as positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case.
- A 46-year-old man in Pasco County has been identified as positive. He is isolated. This is a travel-related case.

A 69-year-old woman in Broward County has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is isolated and will remain isolated until cleared by public health officials, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Another person has tested positive for the new coronavirus in Florida. This brings the number of cases in Florida to 19. The person who tested positive on Monday is a 60-year-old woman in Volusia County. The woman recently traveled and is isolated, according to the Florida Department of Health.

ORIGINAL STORY 3/6/2020:
The Florida Department of Health tweeted that two people in Florida have died from coronavirus.
FLDOH also announced three new presumptive positive cases, two in Broward County and one in Lee County, where a person died from the virus. The second person that died from the virus had a previously announced case in Santa Rosa.
The announcement brings Florida’s total cases to seven.
